Did CM Fadnavis Launch the Mumbai Metro from BKC to Acharya Atre Chowk?

Mumbai, May 9 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, alongside Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, officially inaugurated the 9.77 km Phase 2-A of the Mumbai Metro 3 line stretching from Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Acharya Atre Chowk.

He emphasized that this development will revolutionize travel in Mumbai, stating, "Mumbai Metro Route 3, Phase 2-A: A new era of Seamless, World-Class Connectivity!"

In a post shared on the social media platform X, CM Fadnavis remarked, "Under the guidance of Hon PM Narendra Modi, the metro infrastructure across India, especially in Maharashtra, is witnessing rapid expansion. Metro Line 3, noted as the country's longest underground line, is an 'Engineering Marvel'. Initiated in 2017, the project is progressing swiftly, with the final segment from Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade anticipated to be operational by this August, inaugurated by PM Modi.

The recently launched route features 26 stations, each providing multiple access points.

Significantly, Metro Line 3 will connect directly to the airport, ensuring effortless travel for passengers. Construction on additional lines is advancing rapidly, with plans to introduce 50 km of new routes this year and next. Soon, commuters across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) will enjoy the convenience of traveling via metro, monorail, local train, and bus using a single integrated ticket.

The notable features of Mumbai Metro Route 3, Phase 2-A include 6 underground stations, a headway of every 6 minutes and 20 seconds, fares ranging from Rs 10 to 40, and 8 trains in operation.

CM Fadnavis highlighted several attributes of the Mumbai Metro Route 3, Phase 2-A, such as fully air-conditioned trains and stations, dedicated coaches for women, advanced baggage screening, well-lit secure stations and platforms, 24/7 surveillance with CCTV monitoring, seamless mobile connectivity, accessible restrooms with baby-changing facilities, and a multilingual guidance system for passengers.

Additionally, facilities will include LCD screens for infotainment and advertisements, digital route maps, complete wheelchair access for persons with disabilities (PwDs), fire and smoke suppression systems in every coach, and emergency communication systems linking passengers with the control room.

CM Fadnavis stated that the Mumbai Metro Route 3, Phase 2-A will enhance connectivity to vital business centers such as BKC and Worli while providing easy access to religious sites like Siddhivinayak Temple and Mahim Dargah. It will also offer direct metro access to popular entertainment venues, including Shivaji Park, Yashwant Natya Mandir, Ravindra Natya Mandir, and Plaza Cinema.

"The other metro lines in Mumbai have been positively received by the public. This initiative represents a significant advancement towards a faster, smarter, and more inclusive transportation system. The BKC station will be integrated with Metro Line 2B and the Bullet Train in the future," he concluded.
