New Delhi, Nov 30 (NationPress) A 55-year-old individual was reportedly killed in the Fatehpur Beri jurisdiction of Delhi due to a longstanding dispute over property in the early hours of Sunday.
The victim has been named Ratan Lohiya.
The event took place around 5 a.m. when Lohiya, who had stepped out for his dairy business in Aya Nagar, was ambushed by attackers and fatally shot.
It has been revealed that the conflict between Lohiya's son and a man named Ramveer over property was the motive behind the murder.
Approximately two years prior, Lohiya's elder son Deepak was assaulted by Ramveer's men, with the case still ongoing.
Six months ago, Deepak, frustrated by continuous threats regarding the matter, allegedly shot Ramveer's elder son Arun at Chhatapur CDR chowk. Subsequently, Deepak was apprehended and is currently imprisoned in Tihar.
Family members of Lohiya assert that he had no disputes with anyone, claiming that Ramveer took his life to avenge his son’s death.
Lohiya's sister, Maimla, shared with IANS that he had been facing relentless death threats for the past three years.
She mentioned that her brother sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
Expressing concern over their future in the village, she called for justice.
Maimla alleged that despite notifications, police had not acted against Ramveer and his associates.
The victim's wife, Kamlesh, revealed that her husband was attacked by a group of 12 individuals.
In defense of her son, Deepak, she remarked, "He was just a simple young man. He faced an attack from 20 people. A case was only filed two days after he regained consciousness. However, during court appearances, Ramveer's group intimidated him. Out of anger, Deepak shot Ramveer's son Arun."
She expressed that they have been living under a constant threat.
Kamlesh detailed that the assailants included Ramveer, his son, relatives, and a man named Kamal.
