Naba Das’ wife, Minati Das, engaged the Chief Minister to inquire about the investigation's progress into her husband's murder.

She was joined by their daughter, former MLA Dipali Das, and son Bishal Das.

According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s office, Majhi pledged to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the murder of former minister Naba Das, ensuring that those responsible would face strict legal consequences.

He conveyed this commitment to Das' family during their meeting.

Expressing profound sadness over the tragic event, CM Majhi labeled the murder as "deeply unfortunate and condemnable".

He indicated that the government would reassess all dimensions of the case to guarantee that the true perpetrators are apprehended and dealt with under the law.

The Chief Minister encouraged Minati Das to collaborate with the investigative agencies and assured her that she could reach out to him personally at any time regarding the situation.

After her meeting with CM Majhi, Minati Das expressed her appreciation for his promise of justice.

"Today, we met with the Chief Minister and submitted a letter requesting a CBI probe into the matter. CM Majhi assured us that he will ensure an unbiased and thorough inquiry into my father's murder case,” stated Dipali.

It's noteworthy that a team from the Odisha Crime Branch continued its investigation on Wednesday, visiting the Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda for a fresh probe into the incident. Naba Das, gravely injured, was airlifted to Bhubaneswar from Jharsuguda following the attack.

The team also reportedly interrogated two doctors who had treated Naba Das post-shooting.

The police further visited Naba Das' residence in Jharsuguda for the second consecutive day.

It is significant to note that an Assistant Sub Inspector of Police allegedly shot Das as he was exiting his car at Gandhi Square in the Brajarajnagar region of Jharsuguda district on January 29, 2023.
