NABL-QCI Names Dr. Sandip Shah as New Chairperson

New Delhi, Dec 27 (NationPress) The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), which operates under the Quality Council of India (QCI), has named Dr. Sandip Shah, a distinguished medical expert, as the new Chairperson, as reported by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Friday.
Dr. Shah, who is the founder of Neuberg Supratech Reference Laboratories, is a Gold Medalist in MD Pathology and Bacteriology from B.J. Medical College in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He boasts over 30 years of experience in the healthcare sector.
His extensive expertise encompasses various fields including pathology, molecular biology, and transplant immunology.
Currently, he serves as the Joint Managing Director at Neuberg Diagnostics and holds the position of Honorary Director at the Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Center.
“Dr. Shah takes over from Prof. Subbanna Ayyappan, bringing with him 35 years of valuable knowledge in healthcare and diagnostics, along with a notable career in pathology, molecular biology, and transplant immunology,” stated the Ministry.
Dr. Shah was pivotal in conceptualizing and launching India’s first drive-through Covid testing facility, which successfully conducted over 3,500 tests at a single location.
He has also been influential in healthcare innovation, serving as a CAP Inspector and a visiting faculty member at IIM Ahmedabad.
Previously, he played a crucial role at NABL, having served as the Chair of the Medical Labs Accreditation Improvement Committee (MLAIC).
