Kohima, Jan 26 (NationPress) The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, inaugurated the ‘Chief Minister’s Mobile Operation Theatre’ during the festivities marking the 76th Republic Day, in the company of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and other notable figures.
Officials have described this initiative as a groundbreaking effort aimed at providing advanced surgical and healthcare services to the rural and isolated communities of Nagaland.
With cutting-edge keyhole surgery technology, this program intends to improve access to specialized medical treatment, foster health equity, and minimize healthcare gaps in underprivileged areas, according to a senior official from the health department.
The mobile facility boasts a fully outfitted surgical unit, along with portable diagnostic instruments such as ultrasound, X-Ray, endoscopy, and blood testing tools, as well as equipment for minimally invasive surgical procedures.
A dedicated medical team from Kohima Hospital, supplemented by healthcare professionals from both private and public sectors devoted to aiding disadvantaged communities, will guarantee high-quality medical services are delivered directly to those requiring assistance.
This Mobile Operation Theatre not only facilitates life-saving procedures but also exemplifies an innovative approach to healthcare delivery, effectively connecting urban medical resources with the healthcare requirements of remote populations.
The Governor remarked that the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) has been expanding successfully, with 65 hospitals, both within and beyond the state, being enrolled in the CMHIS. Under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, 76 AB PM-JAY hospitals are registered in Nagaland, benefiting 21,415 individuals.
Furthermore, he mentioned that a budget of Rs 15 crore has been allocated for the Chief Minister’s Universal Life Insurance Scheme (CMLIS), with 13 families having received insurance benefits. Additionally, the Ayushman Arogya Shivir—a monthly health fair—is being regularly organized.
