Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday, 12 June 2025, marked the completion of two years of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the state, asserting that the coalition had overcome the challenges and crises inherited from the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) administration to deliver welfare, development, and good governance.

Naidu's Message on Two Years of Governance

Taking to social media platform X, Chief Minister Naidu reflected on the government's journey since assuming office. 'Today marks exactly two years since this people's government assumed office, backed by the immense trust of five crore people. While the previous administration left behind a legacy of challenges, crises, and unresolved issues, we have overcome them all to deliver welfare, development, and good governance,' he wrote.

Naidu, who also serves as TDP national president, framed governance as a public responsibility rather than a privilege. 'We operate with the conviction that power is a responsibility and that those in governance are, in fact, servants of the people. Our agenda is centered on the success and well-being of every citizen, every family, and every section of society,' he added.

Gratitude to PM Modi and the Centre

Naidu extended formal thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government for their support, signalling the importance of the Centre-State partnership to Andhra Pradesh's development agenda. 'As we complete two years of governance, I extend my gratitude — on behalf of the people — to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Central Government for their unwavering support at every step of the state's development,' he said.

He also acknowledged Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan as a key partner, stating that together they are 'marching towards a Swarnandhra (Golden Andhra).' The reference to Swarnandhra is a recurring vision articulated by the Naidu administration for a prosperous, well-governed Andhra Pradesh.

Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Weighs In

Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu also marked the occasion with a post on X, acknowledging the scale of the challenge the NDA faced upon taking office. 'The challenges before us were immense and rebuilding confidence in the state's future was never going to be an easy task,' he said.

The Union minister credited the combined leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister Naidu, and Deputy Chief Minister Kalyan for steering the state back toward growth. 'What is most encouraging today is the renewed sense of optimism among our people and the confidence that Andhra Pradesh is once again moving in the right direction,' he added.

Context: What the NDA Inherited

The TDP-NDA coalition swept to power in June 2023, ending five years of YSRCP rule under former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. The incoming administration repeatedly cited fiscal stress, stalled infrastructure projects, and governance lapses as part of the legacy it had to address. Notably, Andhra Pradesh has been navigating the long-term consequences of the state's bifurcation in 2014, which left it without a permanent capital and with a constrained revenue base — challenges that predate the YSRCP tenure but were compounded during it, according to the current government.

With the two-year milestone now passed, the Naidu administration has signalled that welfare and infrastructure delivery will continue to be central to its agenda ahead of the next electoral cycle.
