New Delhi, March 27 (NationPress) Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav ignited a debate by contrasting the BJP's focus on cowsheds with his party's initiative for perfume parks.

Yadav remarked that the BJP opts for the "foul odour" of cowsheds, while the SP champions "fragrance", integrating perfume parks into its development strategy.

In reaction to these comments, senior BJP figure Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi condemned Yadav’s remarks, deeming them a sign of frustration.

Speaking to IANS, Naqvi stated, "I regret that some individuals identify as cowherds, yet sometimes they support cow slaughterers. Now, they claim to detect the foul smell from cowsheds. This illustrates their frustration. It raises questions about their intended direction."

Naqvi also discussed the ongoing protests related to the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, which has stirred controversy.

He denounced the politicization of the Bill, asserting that it is subjected to communal blackmail, which he believes harms the Waqf, the nation, and all faiths.

Naqvi highlighted that the Waqf Act is a legal framework enacted by Parliament, and any modifications should follow appropriate parliamentary procedures rather than divisive methods.

"The Waqf Act should not be treated like a sacred text, beyond reform," Naqvi pointed out. "It is an Act passed by Parliament, and any changes will only occur through the legislative process. Spreading fear and confusion regarding the Waqf system is inappropriate."

Naqvi also assured the public about the security of religious sites.

"All religious places, including mosques and dargahs, are entirely safe. No one should fall prey to the traps of communal blackmail."

Regarding demands from BJP MLAs to close meat shops and limit namaz on roads during Navratri, Naqvi stressed the significance of honoring religious sentiments.

"India is a nation of diverse faiths, and we celebrate one another's traditions. During Navratri, fasting and maintaining sanctity is a common practice, deserving respect from all," he emphasized.
