Bhubaneswar, Aug 17 (NationPress) Former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar after reportedly falling ill on Sunday.
According to reports, the BJD supremo was taken to the hospital on Sunday afternoon due to dehydration. Hospital sources have confirmed that the Leader of Opposition (LoP) Patnaik’s condition is stable and he is responding positively to treatment.
In the meantime, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended his wishes for a speedy recovery and good health to the ex-CM, stating, “I learned about the health issues of the opposition leader, Honourable @Naveen_Odisha. I pray to Lord Shri Jagannath for his quick recovery and well-being,” on his X handle.
Following the news regarding Patnaik, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling and Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan visited the hospital to inquire about the health condition of the BJD leader.
It is noteworthy that on June 20, Patnaik traveled to Mumbai, where he underwent spinal surgery for cervical arthritis on June 22. “As recommended by medical professionals, I will be undergoing a procedure for cervical arthritis on the 22nd of this month at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. My personal physician, Dr. Ramakant Panda, is coordinating this in Mumbai. With the blessings of Lord Jagannatha and the good wishes of my brothers and sisters from Odisha, I look forward to returning soon to continue serving you all,” the BJD president had declared on June 18.
He was discharged after recovery and returned to Odisha on July 7. “I want to express my gratitude to the entire medical team at @KDAHMumbai and @GangaWebteam for their outstanding medical service and care before and after the surgery. Heartfelt thanks to everyone from Odisha and beyond for their prayers and wishes for my health,” Patnaik shared on July 7.
