Bhubaneswar, Aug 21 (NationPress) The former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly, Naveen Patnaik, has been officially released from the private hospital in Bhubaneswar and has returned to his home.
His discharge occurred late Wednesday evening, and on his way to 'Naveen Nivas', he expressed, “I am grateful to the people of Odisha for their prayers and good wishes regarding my health, and of course, to the hospital staff for their exceptional care.”
It is significant to note that Patnaik was admitted to the private facility after experiencing health issues attributed to dehydration on Sunday.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to Patnaik to inquire about his well-being.
The Prime Minister also extended wishes for a swift recovery, advising Patnaik to rest adequately. He encouraged the former Chief Minister to visit New Delhi after fully recuperating to meet him.
In expressing his gratitude, Patnaik shared on his X account, “Thank you, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodiJi for your call to check on my health and for wishing me a quick recovery.”
He also acknowledged Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former Governors Biswabhushan Harichandan of Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for their health inquiries.
“Thank you, @INCOdisha President Shri @BhaktaCharanDas Ji, Law Minister of Odisha Shri @PrithivirajBJP Ji, and Health Minister Shri @MahalingMukesh Ji for visiting me during my hospital stay,” Patnaik added.
Additionally, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, and other prominent leaders across various parties conveyed their wishes for his recovery and health.
Following Chief Minister Majhi's directives, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan visited the hospital to check on the well-being of the BJD leader.
The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Bhakta Charan Das also visited him during his hospital stay.
It is important to mention that Patnaik underwent spinal surgery for cervical arthritis on June 22 in Mumbai. He was discharged after his recovery and returned to Odisha on July 7.
