Bhubaneswar, Aug 18 (NationPress) Naveen Patnaik, the Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister of Odisha, has urged the public to visit him at Naveen Nivas while subtly advising against hospital visits. Currently, the BJD supremo is receiving treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
In a message shared via his X account, Patnaik expressed gratitude towards the people of Odisha for their well-wishes and thanked the medical professionals for their exceptional care. He emphasized that he is on the road to recovery and plans to engage with the public shortly.
Patnaik, in a video statement, encouraged anyone who wishes to see him to come to his residence. He stated, “You are more than welcome to visit me at Naveen Nivas.”
This announcement follows reports of alleged disputes involving senior BJD leaders and Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Bhakta Charan Das with V.K. Pandian, a close aide, at the hospital on Sunday evening. However, no confirmations regarding these disagreements have been made by the BJD leaders or Das.
It is crucial to note that Patnaik was hospitalized after suffering from dehydration. Leaders including Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, and Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida have expressed their wishes for Patnaik's swift recovery.
“I learned about the health condition of the opposition leader, Honourable @Naveen_Odisha. I pray to Lord Shri Jagannath for his quick recovery,” CM Majhi posted on X.
Upon hearing about Patnaik's condition, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling and Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan visited him at the hospital to check on his well-being. Notably, Patnaik had undergone spinal surgery for cervical arthritis in Mumbai on June 22 and returned to Odisha on July 7 after a successful recovery.
