New Delhi, April 15 (NationPress) Redefining the dimensions of global friendship and collaboration, Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, the Chief of Naval Staff, captivated social media with a video clip showcasing his rendition of the Bollywood classic 'Yeh dosti hum nahi todenge' alongside a prominent Tanzanian defense official, as reported on Tuesday.

The Indian Navy chief is currently on an official visit to Tanzania from April 12-16, aimed at enhancing maritime collaboration. He performed the iconic song from the 1975 hit film ‘Sholay’ alongside Tanzania's Chief of Defence Forces, General John Jacob Mkunda, during a Gala Dinner held at the Golf Club in Dar es Salaam.

Shared by the Indian Navy, the two-minute video of their stage performance has garnered admiration worldwide, with numerous social media users expressing their delight and astonishment at the Tanzanian official’s ability to sing in Hindi.

This musical moment occurred at an event intended to welcome Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth.

Admiral Tripathi is visiting Tanzania as part of the AIKEYME2025 (Africa India Key Maritime Exercise 2025), where Aikeyme translates to unity in Sanskrit.

The primary goal of this visit is to fortify strategic relations between India and Tanzania, highlighting New Delhi’s dedication to enhancing defense partnerships within the Indian Ocean Region.

The inaugural edition of this extensive multilateral exercise, which is co-hosted by the Indian Navy and the Tanzania People's Defence Force, was officially launched in Dar es Salaam on April 13.

AIKEYME is a multilateral initiative focused on maritime progress and security, involving 10 countries, including India, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Mauritius, Comoros, Djibouti, Madagascar, Mozambique, and Seychelles.

The exercise emphasizes improving operational coordination, refining joint strategies, and enhancing interoperability in maritime operations.

In addition to INS Sunayna, designated as the Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) SAGAR, two other Indian Navy vessels, INS Chennai (Destroyer) and INS Kesari (Landing Ship Tank - Large), are participating in the exercise.

The involvement of personnel from Friendly Foreign Nations (FFNs) aboard INS Sunayna highlights the importance of this initiative in fostering global maritime collaboration.
