Raipur, Dec 12 (NationPress) Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced that Naxalism in Chhattisgarh is nearly eradicated, marking his two-year tenure in office.
In a media briefing, he stated that security forces have successfully neutralized 505 Maoists, with 2,386 surrendering and 1,901 apprehended.
CM Sai noted that sixty-nine security camps have been established in the troubled areas, while the Niyada Nella Nar Yojana rehabilitation initiative has facilitated reintegration into mainstream society.
He emphasized that tackling the Maoist threat has been a significant achievement over the past two years.
Due to this progress, fifty schools and numerous hospitals previously shut down due to violence have reopened, and development initiatives have reached 403 villages, providing paved roads, health centers, mobile towers, and ration shops.
A monthly allowance of Rs 10,000 for surrendered Maoists over a three-year period has been introduced to support their rehabilitation.
The Chief Minister themed his celebration as “Continuous Service, Continuous Development”, showcasing the state government's accomplishments since he took office on December 13.
He highlighted that housing, agriculture, welfare, and security are key areas of advancement, claiming that his administration has fulfilled promises unmet by the previous Congress-led government.
He revealed that his first Cabinet decision sanctioned 1.8 million houses, many of which have already been distributed to beneficiaries, with more under construction.
Farmers have received the assured Rs 3,100 per quintal for paddy purchases, with payments processed within a week.
“Outstanding bonuses worth Rs 9,700 crore were paid to 1.3 million farmers shortly after the government assumed power, while two years’ accrued bonuses have also been addressed.”
He also mentioned that women's empowerment remains a priority, with 22 installments of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana delivering Rs 14,000 crore directly into women's bank accounts.
Programs like Charan Paduka Yojana have been reinstated, free rations are reaching 7.3 million impoverished families, and landless farmers are receiving Rs 10,000 each.
The state government has launched the Shri Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, allowing over 37,000 devotees to visit the Ram temple in Ayodhya and Kashi Vishwanath at no cost.
On the industrial front, CM Sai highlighted investment proposals totaling Rs 8 lakh crore under the new policy, which includes Chhattisgarh's first semiconductor unit in Nava Raipur.
Railway expansion has attracted an investment of Rs 47,500 crore, which has doubled track length since 2014 and introduced cargo services in Raipur.
A detailed project report is being developed to connect the Indravati and Mahanadi rivers via pipeline.
