Constructed with an investment of Rs 5 crore, the academy is designed to serve as a center for fostering leadership, discipline, and civic responsibility among National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets.
Initially, the academy provides residential and training facilities accommodating 200 cadets. Upon completion of the second phase, the capacity will expand to train up to 600 cadets, marking a pivotal enhancement to Gujarat's NCC framework. Currently, the only other NCC academies in the state are located in Ahmedabad and Rajpipla.
During his visit to the modern facility, Chief Minister Patel received updates on its advanced infrastructure. He also took part in a tree plantation initiative on the grounds and was honored with a Guard of Honour by the NCC cadets.
This academy, developed with the support of the state government, is envisioned as a vital center for youth empowerment and national development. It aims to elevate NCC training standards in Gujarat and instill fundamental values such as leadership, patriotism, and social responsibility among young cadets.
Beginning July 28, the academy will launch its inaugural camps, which include a 'Youth Disaster Preparedness Training Camp' and the 'Combined Annual Training Camp' (CATC).
In the future, a variety of NCC training camps will be held throughout the year at the academy. The campus is equipped with cutting-edge facilities, including obstacle courses, a firing range, drill grounds, digital classrooms, and comprehensive residential amenities. The academy's operations will be managed by the Vallabh Vidyanagar Group Headquarters.
