Bhagalpur (Bihar), Jan 19 (NationPress) On the occasion of Rashtriya Swabhiman Diwas, Colonel Ritesh Mohan, Commanding Officer of the 23 Bihar Battalion, stated that the National Cadet Corps (NCC) has become notably stronger under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He elaborated that continuous efforts are underway to realize PM Modi’s vision at the grassroots level.
In an interview with IANS in Bhagalpur, Colonel Mohan mentioned that a majority of NCC cadets in Bihar and Jharkhand belong to Generation Z. “Our primary aim is to nurture self-confidence in them and foster a robust sense of patriotism,” he noted.
He expressed that NCC units are operating in accordance with Prime Minister Modi’s vision. “Unity and discipline are the fundamental principles of NCC. Cadets are also educated on their responsibilities in nation-building. In today’s global context, it is crucial for Indian youth to grasp how to uphold the nation’s unity and integrity, and NCC is instrumental in this,” he remarked.
Colonel Mohan characterized the NCC as a symbol of national pride, asserting that it plays a significant role in cultivating disciplined and responsible citizens. He revealed that a single battalion comprises approximately 3,000 cadets, with nearly 40 percent being girls. “We are persistently broadening our outreach to more schools,” he added.
Emphasizing the impact of leadership since 2014, he stated, “Since PM Modi assumed office, the NCC has gained substantial empowerment. We are continually inspiring the youth. When given proper direction, young individuals do not stray. When their energy is directed positively, the outcomes are remarkably encouraging.”
He further articulated that NCC aids children in building confidence, which is advantageous in various life aspects. Alongside basic and physical training, cadets are informed about future opportunities. “In NCC camps, children from rural locales stand alongside peers from more affluent backgrounds. When they recognize their own capabilities, their self-confidence escalates,” he noted.
Colonel Mohan reaffirmed that by implementing the Prime Minister’s vision at the grassroots level, the NCC is committed to enhancing unity and discipline among the youth. He mentioned that ideas concerning startups could also be explored going forward. He indicated that the budget allocated by the government for the NCC is adequate and sufficient.
