NCC launches first paramotor training course for NE cadets in Guwahati

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) has launched its first dedicated Basic Paramotors Course for cadets in the Northeast at Panikheti, Guwahati, marking a significant expansion of aero-adventure training among youth in the region. The inaugural course, which began on 4 May 2025 and runs until 19 May 2025, is training 50 senior division boy cadets drawn from multiple states across the northeastern region.

Course Structure and Training Partners

The programme is being conducted in collaboration with the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS), with qualified NIMAS instructors supervising all activities at the NIMAS Paramotors Node in Panikheti. The training module covers a comprehensive curriculum including ground handling, motor operations, flight theory, emergency procedures, and supervised solo flying exercises, all carried out under strict safety protocols.

DG NCC Reviews Training Activities

Director General of the NCC, Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, visited the NCC North Eastern Region Directorate on Monday, 11 May 2025, and reviewed ongoing training activities at the NIMAS Paramotors Node. During the visit, he interacted with cadets, witnessed live paramotor flying demonstrations, and assessed the training infrastructure established for the course.
