New Delhi, Sep 30 (NationPress) The climate in the National Capital Region (NCR) underwent a significant transformation on Tuesday as ominous clouds rolled in during the morning. This was soon followed by brief showers across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and nearby locations.
This rainfall provided a much-needed reprieve for residents who have been grappling with relentless heat and humidity over the preceding week.
The downpour caused temperatures to drop, presenting a refreshing alternative to the sweltering conditions.
Nevertheless, the rain resulted in traffic congestion and water accumulation in various areas, causing disruptions for commuters during the busy morning hours.
Slow-moving traffic was noted in parts of Ghaziabad’s Vaishali, Indirapuram, and multiple sectors in Noida and Delhi.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that this wet weather pattern is expected to persist for the next two days.
“Thunderstorms coupled with lightning are anticipated in the NCR and surrounding areas until October 1,” the IMD stated in its report.
The outlook predicts maximum temperatures to remain around 34-35 degrees Celsius, and minimums between 26-29 degrees Celsius. The skies are expected to be partly cloudy, with occasional light rain or drizzle.
Humidity levels are anticipated to stay within 55-85 percent, contributing to largely comfortable weather conditions.
The IMD further noted that from October 2 onward, the intensity of the rains will lessen, although cloudy skies will remain.
By October 5, clearer skies are projected, with maximum temperatures gradually falling to about 33 degrees Celsius and minimums stabilizing around 24 degrees Celsius.
Yet, the rains have sparked joy among many. Numerous individuals took to social media to share images and videos celebrating the weather shift.
Farmers in adjacent districts also welcomed the rainfall, as it could be vital for late-sown crops that require moisture.
Weather analysts remarked that this weather event will aid in balancing seasonal conditions before the final withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from northwest India.
