Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Jan 28 (NationPress) The National Commission for Women (NCW) is set to host ‘Shakti Samvaad’, a two-day interactive and capacity-building conference with State Women Commissions (SWCs) at the Bharat Mandapam in the national capital on January 29 and 30.
The objective of Shakti Samvaad is to enhance institutional collaboration, exchange best practices, and develop the capabilities of State Women Commissions.
This marks the third national-level Shakti Samvaad within a year, following its successful previous events in Ayodhya and Mumbai, underscoring NCW’s ongoing commitment to cooperative federalism in the domain of women’s rights and welfare.
Participants from State Women's Commissions across the country will engage in a comprehensive dialogue, making this event a truly pan-India initiative.
The inauguration will be led by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Additionally, the program includes the launch of the book ‘Safarnama’, a collection of testimonials from NCW staff who have contributed to this journey, alongside the award ceremony for winners of the online poster-making competition themed ‘Stay Safe Online’.
Throughout the two days, discussions will center on enhancing complaint handling and investigation systems, optimizing Management Information Systems (MIS) and helplines, reviewing state-specific legislation, and boosting engagement between NCW and SWCs in legislative matters. Furthermore, it aims to advance the national mission of ‘Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat’, formulate a strategic roadmap for district-level Jan Sunwai initiatives nationwide, and share innovative practices adopted by State Women Commissions.
NCW chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar remarked on the significance of this event, stating, “Shakti Samvaad is more than a meeting; it embodies a collective commitment. When State Women Commissions and the National Commission for Women collaborate on a unified platform, coordination is enhanced, responses are expedited, and solutions become more practical.”
She further emphasized, “Continuous dialogue is critical to ensure that women-focused laws, services, and grievance redressal mechanisms effectively reach the most marginalized women.”
The engagement over these two days is anticipated to yield actionable outcomes and strengthen institutional partnerships, promoting the rights, safety, and dignity of women throughout the nation.
