New Delhi, June 13 (NationPress) The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is set to prioritize anti-encroachment and sanitation complaints during its Suvidha Camp taking place this Saturday, according to an official announcement.
This Suvidha Camp aims to resolve issues related to new electricity connections/disconnections, load adjustments, name changes/transfers, property tax inquiries, and requests for birth and death certificates, along with service matters concerning both current and retired NDMC employees.
Scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the NDCC Convention Centre, Jai Singh Road (near Palika Kendra), the camp will provide vital information, assistance, and grievance redressal for NDMC service users.
Concerns regarding waterlogging, sanitation, waste management, road repairs, pensions for widows, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities, as well as bookings for 'baraat ghar' (marriage halls) and parks, will also be addressed by officials during the event.
In addition to attending the Suvidha Camp, residents are encouraged to visit the Jan Suvidha Portal to file their grievances, check the status of their complaints, and provide feedback.
Recently, the civic body initiated a dedicated cleanliness and awareness campaign at Sarojini Nagar Market, one of the busiest markets in the NDMC jurisdiction.
The campaign aims to promote the ban on single-use plastics, effective waste segregation at the source, and the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle (RRR) among shopkeepers, with the goal of creating a litter-free environment.
The NDMC has also distributed “Litter-Free Area” stickers to all shops within its area, which should be displayed at shop entrances to signify their commitment to a cleaner and greener city.
These stickers convey essential messages like ‘Single Use Plastic is Banned, Choose Eco-Friendly Alternatives’ and ‘Use the Dustbin – Don’t Litter’.
According to an official, the NDMC is committed to ensuring all its areas are free from litter, marking a significant step towards fostering behavior change among citizens, with shopkeepers playing a crucial role in raising public awareness.
