New Delhi, Oct 17 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a compelling address at the NDTV World Summit 2025, held at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, stating that India has transitioned from silence to take decisive action against terrorism.

At the summit themed “Edge of the Unknown: Risk, Resolve, Renewal,” PM Modi pointed to Operation Sindoor as a clear illustration of India’s unwavering stance against cross-border terrorism, receiving tremendous applause from an audience that featured prominent figures including Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott.

“The time of a muted India has come to an end,” PM Modi asserted. “Today, a self-sufficient India does not remain silent. It responds appropriately through surgical strikes, airstrikes, and Operation Sindoor.”

His address referred to the daring military operation on May 7, 2025, when Indian forces executed coordinated strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Punjab, targeting terror infrastructure associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen. Carried out in collaboration by the Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, and Indian Army, Operation Sindoor utilized stand-off precision missiles to obliterate multiple terrorist facilities, neutralizing over 100 operatives.

This operation was a direct response to a tragic attack that occurred in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, which resulted in the loss of 26 lives, highlighting India’s zero-tolerance policy regarding terrorism.

PM Modi’s address unfolded against a backdrop of increased tensions with Pakistan, symbolizing India’s evolution from restraint to a more proactive defensive posture.

The Prime Minister positioned Operation Sindoor within a broader strategy, referencing prior surgical strikes in 2016 and the Balakot airstrike in 2019, which targeted terror camps following attacks in Uri and Pulwama. These endeavors, he contended, represent a new India—self-assured and determined—that prioritizes national security while promoting regional stability.

He referenced recent data showing a 7 percent increase in merchandise exports, released just two days earlier, as proof of India’s strong trajectory despite global economic slowdowns. This economic strength, he indicated, supports India’s ability to tackle security issues while maintaining progress.

The NDTV World Summit, which began on Friday, brought together a diverse array of policymakers and cultural leaders, with Modi’s keynote establishing a commanding atmosphere.
