New Delhi, Dec 3 (NationPress) A court in Delhi has decided to prolong the NIA custody of Jasir Bilal Wani, who is implicated in the Delhi terror blast case, for an additional seven days. Wani appeared before a Special NIA court in Patiala House following the conclusion of his prior custody period on Wednesday.

The NIA has labeled Wani as a significant co-conspirator alongside the terrorist Dr. Umar Muhammad, who was responsible for the car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort on November 10, resulting in the loss of 13 lives. Wani was detained on November 17 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, for allegedly offering technical support for executing the terror attacks.

He is reported to have engaged in modifying drones and attempting to create rockets in the lead-up to the catastrophic car bomb incident.

Hailing from Qazigund in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, Wani is said to have played an active role in the planning and execution of the attack. He collaborated closely with Dr. Umar Muhammad Nabi to orchestrate this act of terrorism.

On a related note, a Special Court also extended the custody of another suspect, Amir Rashid Ali, for another seven days on Tuesday.

Ali was brought to court for a closed hearing following the expiration of his seven-day NIA custody granted on November 26.

The NIA asserts that Amir Rashid Ali is the registered owner of the white Hyundai i20 hatchback that was utilized in the explosion near the Red Fort on November 10.

According to the investigation agency, Ali personally traveled to Delhi to acquire the vehicle implicated in the terror attack.

The November 10 car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort resulted in 13 fatalities and numerous injuries, prompting a comprehensive investigation that unearthed a sophisticated 'white-collar' terror network linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Prior to the blast, numerous arrests were executed across various states, with authorities beginning to compile evidence of an interstate terror module.

In the aftermath of the explosion, the NIA discovered connections to previous arrests, leading to a series of new findings as the investigation continued to unfold.
