The Department of Information & Public Relations, Jammu and Kashmir, announced on the social media platform 'X': "9 young foreign devotees from 6 countries, including the US and Germany, undertook the sacred #ShriAmarnathJiYatra via the Baltal route — a magnificent representation of global faith and spiritual unity in the heart of the Himalayas."
A young devotee from Canada shared her profound spiritual journey, describing it as overwhelming and life-changing. "Experiencing the rich biodiversity and spiritual energy of Kashmir was incredible. The moment I entered the Amarnath cave, tears flowed — a deep sense of serenity enveloped me. The world is unified through the energies of Shiv-Shakti. Since the commencement of this year's Amarnath Yatra on July 3, over 342,000 Yatris have had 'Darshan' thus far, with another group of 3,500 pilgrims beginning their journey from Jammu towards the two base camps.
Officials reported that more than 342,000 Yatris have participated in the ongoing Amarnath Yatra over the past 21 days, with the influx of pilgrims remaining constant.
The anticipated figure of 350,000 Yatris partaking in the Yatra this year is expected to be surpassed by Thursday, with 17 days yet remaining before the Yatra concludes.
"The Yatra has been progressing peacefully and smoothly, encouraging devotees to come in record numbers. With over 342,000 having had Darshan in the past 21 days, another batch of 3,500 Yatris departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu for the Valley on Thursday," officials stated.
"The initial convoy of 45 vehicles carrying 832 Yatris departed for the Baltal base camp at 3:25 a.m., while a second convoy of 95 vehicles transporting 2,668 Yatris to the Pahalgam base camp left at 4:01 a.m.," an official informed.
The Bhumi Pujan of 'Chhari Mubarak' (Lord Shiva's Holy Abode) was conducted in Pahalgam on July 10.
The Chhari Mubarak was subsequently returned to its location at the Dashnami Akhara building.
It will commence its final journey towards the cave shrine from the Dashnami Akhara temple in Srinagar on August 4, reaching the holy cave shrine on August 9, marking the official conclusion of the Yatra.
Authorities have implemented extensive multi-tier security measures for this year's Amarnath Yatra, particularly following the tragic attack on April 22, where Pakistan-backed terrorists claimed the lives of 26 civilians based on their faith in the Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam.
