Pune, Aug 1 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, recently commended Union Minister and seasoned BJP leader Nitin Gadkari, asserting that he embodies not only a ‘man of vision’ but also a ‘man of action’.

Acknowledging Gadkari with the Lokmanya Tilak National Award 2025 is a tribute to his proactive and empathetic nature, Fadnavis remarked.
This statement came during a ceremony where the esteemed Lokmanya Tilak National Award 2025 was bestowed upon Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari. The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister and Pune Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar, Minister of Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Patil, Minister of State Madhuri Misal, and Chairman of the Lokmanya Tilak Memorial Trust, Rohit Tilak, among others.
Fadnavis noted that the initiative to honor individuals whose endeavors mirror the self-respect championed by Lokmanya Tilak is a remarkable concept in contemporary India.
“Minister Nitin Gadkari’s leadership is forward-thinking. He has nurtured exceptional talent alongside compassion and a culture that motivates ongoing social contributions. He is an accomplished researcher. His expertise spans agriculture, engineering, medicine, industry, architecture, and science. He seeks innovative solutions to make advancements accessible to the general populace,” he explained.
Fadnavis further commented, “Gadkari’s ‘Never Die Attitude’ defines his character. He confronts challenges head-on, enabling him to undertake significant projects. Following the successful completion of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Atal Bihari Vajpayee entrusted him with the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also recognized this quality, assigning him the task of enhancing road and highway infrastructure. Previously, we traveled abroad to observe global infrastructure; now, the world is visiting us. This marks Gadkari’s triumph.”
He remarked that due to Gadkari’s efforts, a transformative shift has commenced in road construction across the nation. He has established himself as the most competent minister within the Union Cabinet, overseeing the development of a road network along the country's borders.
In his address, Minister Gadkari stated that Lokmanya Tilak serves as a source of inspiration and a role model for all Indians. His accomplishments are indeed noteworthy. “Receiving the Lokmanya Tilak National Award in his name is a significant honor. This recognition amplifies my responsibilities, and I pledge to work with greater dedication for our nation to realize the vision of Lokmanya Tilak,” he affirmed.
“Currently, we rank third in the automobile sector, surpassing Japan, trailing only behind the United States and China. In the forthcoming years, our nation will encounter abundant opportunities across various sectors, including agriculture, infrastructure, industry, and research. With our brilliant youth, if we act with a constructive mindset and positive political intent, we can transform our country into a superpower,” he noted.
He urged everyone to participate in elevating India to the pinnacle globally and to construct the India envisioned by Lokmanya Tilak.
Discussing the nation’s development, Minister Gadkari revealed that a massive tunnel worth Rs 12,000 crore is under construction in the Brahmaputra region. He mentioned the introduction of e-cars and e-buses as alternatives to cycle rickshaws.
“Approximately Rs 12,000 crore has been allocated for irrigation initiatives in western Maharashtra. Projects valued at Rs 50,000 crore will begin in Maharashtra by December. Construction on the Navi Mumbai to Pune highway is set to start, while work on the Mumbai to Bangalore highway is underway. This new route will reduce travel time from Pune to Mumbai to just one and a half hours. Projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore are currently in progress in the Pune region. Three new bridges are being constructed in Pune, and the Pune Metro and airport projects are gaining momentum. Development efforts will remain equitable,” he concluded.
