New Delhi, Jan 20 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party has officially welcomed its new national president, Nitin Nabin, who took over his duties at the party's headquarters in the capital on Tuesday, shortly after being elevated to this prominent role.
Accompanying him were Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, along with other senior leaders such as Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and the outgoing president Jagat Prasad Nadda.
During the brief meeting, PM Modi congratulated Nabin’s family on this significant achievement and shared some uplifting moments.
The appointment of 45-year-old Nitin Nabin as the new BJP leader signifies a fresh chapter for the party and represents a generational transition, emphasizing its focus on nurturing younger leadership under his guidance.
In his address to BJP leaders and supporters, PM Modi referred to Nabin as his 'boss', humorously positioning himself as just a party worker.
"In matters of party operations, I am merely a worker, while Nitin Nabin stands as my superior," he stated, met with enthusiastic applause from those present.
PM Modi praised Nabin for his 'youthful vigor' and extensive experience within the organization, highlighting that these qualities will be invaluable for the party's future.
Upon his election as BJP National President, Nabin expressed that this occasion is a 'moment of commitment' for him, emphasizing that he is taking on not just a position but also the ideologies, traditions, and responsibilities of a nationalist movement.
He remarked, "We belong to a political party where politics transcends power; it embodies spiritual practice, selflessness, and sacrifice. Politics is not about luxury or comfort; rather, it demands austerity and accountability."
"Today's moment symbolizes my resolve. I am not merely taking on a role but embracing the ideologies, traditions, and responsibilities that come with this party's nationalist movement," he reiterated.
Before his election, Nabin received widespread support, as the party's Returning Officer confirmed that he garnered 37 nomination sets, including one from the Parliamentary party.
Following his election, the new BJP president has been granted Z-category security, assigned to him by the VIP security division of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Officials revealed that armed CRPF commandos will now be accompanying Nabin during his national travels, public appearances, and even at his home, ensuring his safety around the clock.
