Patna, Sep 20 (NationPress) On Saturday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated a range of forward-thinking science and technology projects during an event at the Indira Gandhi Science Complex (Planetarium) in Patna.
The event's standout feature was the introduction of the Science Exhibition Bus, a mobile initiative aimed at disseminating scientific knowledge throughout Bihar for both students and the general populace.
Additionally, the Chief Minister remotely launched several significant projects under the Science, Technology, and Technical Education Department by unveiling plaques.
These projects included the groundbreaking for Astra Park at the Planetarium and the opening of a souvenir sales center.
In a pivotal advancement for technical education, an M.Tech. program in Civil Engineering was inaugurated at the Bihar Remote Sensing Application Centre, Patna, in collaboration with the Bihar Council of Science and Technology and Bihar Engineering University.
The program also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Bihar Council of Science and Technology and the National Science Museum for the construction of an observatory dome equipped with a telescope at the Patna Planetarium.
Furthermore, an Internship Portal was introduced to offer students valuable research and training opportunities.
To enhance the experience, the Chief Minister opened a cutting-edge Virtual Reality (VR) Theatre, constructed at a cost of Rs 5.6 crore within the main building of the Planetarium.
Post-launch, CM Nitish experienced the VR setup firsthand, commending its design and emphasizing that it would provide students and visitors with an exceptional chance to explore science and technology in an engaging and immersive manner.

Additionally, CM Nitish conferred degrees and honors to engineering graduates from Bihar Engineering University during a grand convocation ceremony held in Patna.

The Chief Minister honored Suman Kumar from Motihari College of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) for achieving the highest rank in the university, presenting him with a cheque of Rs 50,001, a gold medal, a laptop, a certificate, and a B.Tech degree.
Branch-wise toppers were also recognized with gold medals, laptops, certificates, and B.Tech degrees.
Honorees included Vaishnavi Priya (BCE, Bhagalpur) – Civil Engineering topper, Saloni Kumari (GEC, Nawada) – Electrical Engineering topper, Hrithik Raj (BCE, Bhagalpur) – Electronics & Communication Engineering topper, Pramit Kumar (BCE, Bhagalpur) – Computer Science & Engineering topper, and Rani Kumari (MIT, Muzaffarpur) – Information Technology topper.
Among the dignitaries present were Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Science, Technology and Technical Education Minister Sumit Kumar Singh, Education Minister Sunil Kumar, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Development Commissioner S. Siddharth, and Secretary of the Science, Technology and Technical Department Pratima S. Verma.
