Patna, March 11 (NationPress) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday assessed the ongoing construction of the Patna Metro Rail Project and officially launched the third Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) located near Patna railway station in front of Buddha Smriti Park.
Nitish Kumar initiated the TBM breakthrough by pressing a button, enabling the machine to carve through for the underground Metro line.
Urban Development Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh provided the Chief Minister with a site map detailing the progress of Patna Metro Alignment Corridor 1 and 2. The priority section, measuring 6.01 km from Malahi Pakadi to Khemnichak via Bhootnath Road, Zeromile, and Pataliputra Bus Terminal, is being expedited.

“We have devised a superior format for the Patna Metro Rail Project and are consistently inspecting its construction processes. We have persistently instructed officials to guarantee that there are no hindrances in the construction work. Complete the Patna Metro Rail Project on schedule to facilitate convenient movement for the public,” Kumar stated.
During the inspection, Urban Development and Housing Minister Jivesh Kumar, CM’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, CM’s Secretary Anupam Kumar, Urban Development Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh, Patna District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Avkash Kumar, along with senior officials from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Patna Metro Rail Project were present.
The Patna Metro is poised to revolutionize urban transportation, alleviating traffic congestion and providing efficient, modern connectivity. With CM Nitish Kumar’s proactive oversight, Bihar’s inaugural Metro rail project is on course for a 2025 launch.
