Patna, Nov 13 (NationPress) As the vote counting for the eagerly awaited Bihar Assembly elections kicks off on November 14, the NDA has expressed a strong belief that Nitish Kumar will once again secure the position of Chief Minister for the 10th time. Meanwhile, opposition parties remain hopeful about their chances of forming the next government in the state.
In a statement to IANS, BJP State President Dilip Jaiswal emphasized, “The electorate of Bihar has made their decision, and voters have engaged enthusiastically. The developmental initiatives undertaken by the Bihar government, coupled with the public's faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will enable the NDA to reclaim power with a significant majority. Abki Baar NDA Sarkar!”
He further noted, “There was no requirement for re-polling anywhere, and there were no reports of violence. This is a testament to the trust the populace has in the government. The voter turnout was notably high, and polling was conducted peacefully across the state, clearly indicating a return of the NDA government.”
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar stated, “The citizens of Bihar are no longer interested in Tejashwi Yadav, who is beset with various allegations. His leadership has led to the INDIA bloc struggling. The people of Bihar trust the NDA and desire Nitish Kumar to lead as Chief Minister for a 10th term.”
BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav also expressed confidence in the NDA’s success. “We already know the outcome even before the counting begins. The NDA will form the government with a substantial majority, and Nitish Kumar will again become the Chief Minister,” he asserted.
LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Choudhary shared similar sentiments, stating, “The Opposition will undoubtedly make claims — that’s the nature of politics. However, these assertions lack factual support. The NDA is poised to form the government once more, with full strength, and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will take the oath again.”
On the other hand, opposition parties have voiced confidence in their prospects.
Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput mentioned, “We await the results, but we have skepticism regarding the exit polls endorsed by the government or the BJP. We believe in the voters and are confident that the Mahagathbandhan will achieve a significant majority and form the government in Bihar. The NDA also claimed it would dominate Uttar Pradesh, but the Mahagathbandhan performed strongly there. We anticipate a similar outcome in Bihar.”
RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari remarked, “Tomorrow, when the results are announced, the people of Bihar will emerge victorious. The formation of the Mahagathbandhan government is as certain as the sun rising in the east. The public has voted for change, and every vote will matter. Tonight will be a long night for the NDA.”
According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the counting of votes and the declaration of trends for the Bihar Assembly Elections will commence at 8 a.m., with final results expected by the evening.
The second phase of polling concluded smoothly on Tuesday, recording a 68.79% voter turnout, with information from approximately 2,000 polling booths still awaited, as per Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjiyal.
The Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, conducted in two phases on November 6 and 11, saw record voter engagement. Most exit polls released on Tuesday forecast a decisive victory for the BJP-led NDA, indicating challenges for the RJD and Congress-led Mahagathbandhan in this crucial contest.
Several polling agencies predict a comfortable majority for the NDA, suggesting it will easily surpass the halfway threshold of 122 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan is anticipated to struggle to reach 100 seats.
Of the seven major pollsters, most foresee a clear majority for the BJP-led NDA, with three estimating its count to exceed 160 seats. For the Mahagathbandhan, forecasts generally place it in the double digits, with a few estimating a possible upper limit of around 100 seats.
As Bihar awaits the final results, political tensions are rising, with both alliances — the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan claiming victory ahead of the critical counting day.
