A day after assuming charge as West Bengal's new Chief Secretary, Manoj Kumar Agarwal on Tuesday, 12 May convened a meeting with departmental secretaries in Kolkata, delivering a firm directive: no delays or lackadaisical approach in the implementation of centrally-sponsored schemes will be tolerated. According to a State Secretariat insider aware of the proceedings, Agarwal directed departmental secretaries to accelerate implementation of central schemes that are either stalled midway or progressing at an extremely slow pace.
