Hyderabad, March 4 (NationPress) BJP MP K. Laxman stated on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured that South India will not lose any Lok Sabha seats during the delimitation process.

The Rajya Sabha MP informed the media that following the general census, the delimitation of Parliamentary constituencies would occur, and the reservation for women would be established.

Laxman mentioned that the population in Telugu states has decreased since 2011. Despite the decline in population in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the number of Parliamentary seats in these states will remain unchanged.

The BJP leader highlighted that the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act suggested increasing the Assembly seats in Telangana to 153.

Laxman refuted claims regarding the appointment of a leader from South India as the National President of the BJP.

The MP noted that the party has already designated presidents for 11 states and additional appointments for other states will follow soon.

Laxman accused the Telangana government of attempting to mislead the Centre regarding the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and questioned whether the Congress was pursuing RRR for real estate gains.

He charged the Congress with repeating the errors of the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government.

He alleged that BRS leaders attempted to benefit from the RRR alignment and criticized Congress leaders for neglecting their promises to rectify BRS government mistakes.

The Rajya Sabha member stated that if 10 percent of Muslims were not included in the list of Backward Classes, the Telangana government's proposal to increase reservations for Backward Classes would be accepted.

He claimed that the caste survey conducted in Telangana was riddled with inaccuracies and remarked that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had not satisfied anyone with the caste survey.

Laxman also mentioned that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was anxious about the rising influence of the BJP within the state.

He noted that changing the chief minister is an internal affair of the Congress party, but they hope he remains in office for the remaining four years.
