A total of 573 nominations were submitted on the first day alone.
The numbers surged significantly in the days following. On April 2, 788 candidates filed their papers, while on April 4, there was a notable increase with 2,069 nominations submitted.
In just the first three days, the total nomination count reached 3,430.
The final filing day saw a massive turnout at election offices throughout Tamil Nadu, coinciding with an auspicious muhurtham day. Candidates and their supporters formed long lines outside the Returning Officers' offices. In various locations, election officials distributed tokens to manage the crowd and maintain order.
Prominent among those filing nominations on the last day was AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, who submitted his papers from the Edappadi constituency in Salem district. This marks his eighth consecutive candidacy from the same seat.
Additionally, officials confirmed that the supplementary electoral roll was finalized on Monday and will be printed shortly. The integrated final voter list is expected to be released soon, setting the stage for a fierce electoral battle in the state.
