NSUI Protests by Displaying Posters Outside Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla's Office in Bhopal
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhopal, April 4 (NationPress) On Saturday, a contingent of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) organized a demonstration by displaying posters outside the offices of Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, the Directorate of Health Services (Ayushman), and the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) in Bhopal.
One notable poster affixed near the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla -- who oversees the Health and Medical Education portfolio -- conveyed a satirical message.
Through these posters, NSUI members sought to draw attention to purported irregularities within the healthcare system, cautioning that if stringent measures are not implemented, public health may be jeopardized.
They voiced concerns regarding alleged favoritism towards unauthorized or deceptive hospitals operating within the city.
The posters placed outside Shukla’s office-cum-residence were subsequently taken down by security personnel.
NSUI state vice-president Ravi Parmar, who, along with fellow members, put up the posters at various locations, asserted that numerous hospitals in the city are violating regulations by falsely listing medical professionals and staff on documentation.
He noted that even after multiple complaints and protests, no substantial action has been initiated by CMHO Dr. Manish Sharma.
“This lack of action indicates that a significant syndicate of fraudulent hospitals is functioning in the capital,” Parmar stated.
He emphasized that patients from rural areas and smaller towns arrive in Bhopal with hopes of receiving proper medical care, only to be exploited by such hospitals for monetary gain.
Parmar also cautioned about a potential larger protest outside Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla’s residence in the near future if no action is taken.
In response to the allegations, CMHO Dr. Manish Sharma dismissed them as unfounded and politically driven.
“Regular inspections are being conducted, and actions against fraudulent hospitals are underway. In several cases, complaints have also been lodged in court,” he stated, asserting that such poster campaigns are misleading and inappropriate.
