Bhubaneswar, Jan 22 (NationPress) The Odisha government has officially sanctioned 17 major initiatives totaling an investment of Rs 3,883.72 crores. This decision was made during the 134th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting, presided over by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.

According to state government sources, these approvals signify the state’s steadfast dedication to sustainable development and job creation.

“This pivotal clearance arrives in advance of the eagerly awaited Utkarsh Odisha 2025 Conclave, demonstrating the state’s proactive stance towards attracting investments and nurturing industrial excellence. With an emphasis on innovation, ease of conducting business, and social-economic progress, Odisha is solidifying its reputation as India’s leading investment hub,” an official remarked.

The sanctioned projects encompass 15 high-impact sectors such as Steel, Iron & Ferro Alloys, Power & Renewable Energy, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Green Hydrogen, Transportation, Storage, Bio Fuel/Bio Fertilizer, ESDM, Tourism, Green Energy Equipment, and Petroleum & Petrochemicals, representing a total investment of Rs 3,883.72 crores.

These projects are anticipated to create over 12,280 jobs, providing a considerable uplift in employment prospects for the youth of Odisha.

The initiatives will also enhance the industrial framework across eight districts: Sambalpur, Rayagada, Ganjam, Jajpur, Angul, Khordha, Dhenkanal, and Jharsuguda.

“The proactive strategies and strategic emphasis on sustainable development by the Government of Odisha highlight its commitment to fostering a ‘Samrudhha Odisha’ that significantly contributes to India’s ambition of becoming a developed nation by 2047,” the official further noted.

The Odisha government is set to host the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 in Bhubaneswar on January 28 and 29 to draw investors globally.

On January 27, as a lead-up to the conclave, five sessions of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) National Council will be conducted, featuring participation from 200 council members. The conclave will celebrate the accomplishments of 60 MSME entrepreneurs under the age of 40.

On January 29, the Chief Minister will honor two young entrepreneurs from each district as part of the festivities. This year’s conclave will spotlight five crucial sectors: IT, renewable energy, textiles, chemicals, and food processing.

Twelve nations, including Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Germany, Poland, and Cuba, have been invited as “Countries of Focus” to engage in the conclave. More than 5,000 industrial delegates from India and abroad are anticipated to participate.
