Bhubaneswar, Aug 20 (NationPress) The government of Odisha has given the green light to 18 industrial projects, amounting to an impressive Rs 4,515 crore in proposed investments. The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), during its 139th meeting led by Chief Minister Manoj Ahuja, sanctioned these investment proposals.
These ventures are anticipated to generate 8,200 job opportunities across eight districts, which include Angul, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda.
According to an official statement: “By distributing investments across various regions, the government is ensuring that economic advancement accompanies job creation, bolstered local economies, and equitable industrial development.”
Furthermore, the government emphasized that the approved projects reflect Odisha’s dual strategy—reinforcing its traditional growth sectors such as steel, infrastructure, and tourism, while also fostering emerging sectors like Green Energy, Electric Vehicles, Data Centres, Bio-fuels, and Pharmaceuticals.

A company based in Raipur focusing on green energy equipment will establish a 2 GW solar cell manufacturing unit in Ganjam with an investment of Rs 750 crore, which is expected to create 515 jobs.
The SLSWCA also approved a proposal for a 5 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Assembly Plant in Dhenkanal with an investment of Rs 283 crore, poised to generate 51 jobs.
In addition, a five-star hotel will be constructed in Paradip, Jagatsinghpur with an investment of Rs 211 crore, expected to create 350 jobs in the tourism sector.
Moreover, an investment of Rs 300 crore will be directed towards establishing an electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Khordha, with an annual production capacity of 10,000 units, generating 145 jobs.
The government also approved a proposal for a hyperscale data centre facility in Khordha, with an investment of Rs 501 crore, expected to produce 450 jobs in the IT sector.
