Bhubaneswar, Nov 26 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday emphasized the significant impact of science and technology on the progress of human civilization.

During an event at a private school in Bhubaneswar, CM Majhi stated, “For India to rise as a global power, students must cultivate robust skills in science and technology. The young minds of today will be the architects of a thriving Odisha and a developed India.”

He further mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has established a Rs 1 lakh-crore Research & Development Fund aimed at enhancing science and research in India.

This initiative is expected to fortify the nation’s research ecosystem, attract more students towards scientific pursuits, and facilitate groundbreaking advancements in science and technology.

Highlighting the contributions of Indian scientists, Majhi remarked that they have been instrumental in the development of modern technologies. It is vital for both the young and the old to recognize this legacy.

Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, who also spoke at the event, encouraged students to embody discipline, remain focused, and actively contribute to India’s vision for space.

He motivated them to aim for ambitious careers in space science, emphasizing the importance of staying dedicated as India embarks on a new chapter in space exploration.

Shukla expressed strong optimism about India’s long-term space agenda, which includes missions for human space travel, the establishment of India’s own space station, and lunar exploration.

“The future is exceptionally promising for space exploration. We already have a comprehensive policy in place -- Gaganyaan, the Bharatiya Space Station, and eventually a lunar landing. The roadmap exists; our challenge lies in effective implementation,” he stated.

Commending the central government’s unwavering support for India’s space ambitions, Shukla remarked, “There is significant momentum from leadership and strong backing for long-term missions. Since the Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan missions, we have been gaining traction. If this progress continues, we will successfully realize these missions.”
