Bhubaneswar, Jan 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, initiated the first phase of the prestigious Godabarish Mishra Model Primary School (GMAPV) scheme by laying the foundation for 118 model primary schools across 30 districts in the state.
The foundation was ceremoniously laid during a special gathering in Banapur, Khordha district, the birthplace of Godabarish Misra, whose name the scheme honors.
While addressing the attendees, the Chief Minister stated, “By 2036, Odisha will emerge as a prosperous state, and the Godabarish Misra Model Primary School Scheme, inaugurated today, will be pivotal in this vision, as today’s learners are the future citizens and nation-builders.”
CM Majhi emphasized that the scheme aims to fortify the educational foundation of students and marks a significant step towards a developed Odisha and India.
Significantly, under the GMAPV Scheme, 2,200 schools are set to be established in gram panchayats across the state over the next four years, with an investment of Rs 12,000 crore for the initial phase.
