Kolkata, Dec 10 (NationPress) Two separate road incidents in Kolkata have resulted in the tragic death of one individual and injuries to three others, according to police reports on Wednesday.
The initial accident took place late Tuesday night on the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass, followed by another incident on Red Road early Wednesday morning.
The victim, identified as 25-year-old Alokesh Haldar, lost his life after his motorcycle collided near the Kalikapur stretch of the EM Bypass around 2 a.m. while he was heading home from the Dhalai Bridge towards the Ruby crossing.
As per traffic police accounts, Alokesh's bike was speeding when it first crashed into a parked vehicle at the Singhabari intersection, subsequently hitting the median, which propelled him off the motorcycle.
He was urgently transported to MR Bangur Hospital in critical condition, where medical staff pronounced him dead. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a helmet and suffered significant head trauma.
