Chennai, May 8 (NationPress) Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson and senior leader A.N.S. Prasad commended the effectiveness of Operation Sindoor, characterizing it as a crucial blow against terrorism.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, Prasad conveyed his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and praised the Indian armed forces for the successful execution of the operation.
“Sincere thanks to the Honourable Prime Minister @PMOIndia! India’s Motherland emerges victorious. Operation Sindoor delivered a significant strike against terrorists targeting women, aptly named to reflect the symbol of feminine grace — the bindi,” he stated.
Prasad acknowledged the leadership of two distinguished female officers who conducted the press briefing for India. “Two courageous female officers, Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyamika Singh, proudly presented this historic victory to the world. Remarkably, these brave women from diverse backgrounds exemplified India’s strength and unity,” he noted.
The BJP leader further emphasized that their accomplishment symbolizes the pride and power of Indian women.
“The brave Tamil Nadu and the entire nation salute these women in uniform, who have elevated the feminine spirit,” he added.
Drawing inspiration from Tamil Nadu’s historical icons, Prasad linked the bravery of the officers to the legacy of Veeramangai Velu Nachiyar, the 18th-century queen who led a rebellion against colonial forces.
“Salutations to the courageous women of India, inspired by the valorous legacy of Veeramangai Velu Nachiyar from Tamil Nadu. Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyamika Singh, through Operation Sindoor, have brought honor to India’s strength and unity. We salute these fearless women officers and the thousands of women in the Indian Army,” he emphasized.
Prasad’s remarks have garnered attention for highlighting both the strategic success of the operation and the significant contribution of women in India’s defense forces.
Operation Sindoor, named after the traditional red sindoor (vermilion) symbolizing marriage for Hindu women and representing feminine strength and grace, has been widely commended across the political spectrum for targeting the heart of terror networks that threaten the safety and dignity of women.
