New Delhi, July 29 (NationPress) YSRCP Parliamentary Party Leader Y.V. Subba Reddy expressed robust support for Operation Sindoor during his speech in the Rajya Sabha, describing it as a hallmark of India’s strategic precision and a decisive counteraction in light of the recent Pahalgam terror assault.
He emphasized the necessity for the operation to persist until Pakistan ceases its support for terrorism across the Line of Control. Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s sentiments, he reminded the members of the House that “terror, trade, and talks cannot coexist” and that “water and blood cannot flow together.”
Subba Reddy noted that among the civilian casualties were two individuals from Andhra Pradesh: JS Chandramouli, a retired banker, and Madhusudhan, an IT professional.
He conveyed his condolences to the grieving families and commended the bravery of the armed forces.
The MP reported that Operation Sindoor dealt significant damage to nine Pakistani airbases and several radar and air defense installations, including the Nur Khan base in Rawalpindi and others located in Sukkur, Sargodha, and Shahbaz.
While praising the Indian Air Force and the effectiveness of advanced defense systems like the S-400, he also mourned the loss of Indian soldiers, including Murali Naik from the Sri Satya Sai district. He called on the government to promptly release all due compensation, including Rs 1 crore and a government job for the next of kin of those who lost their lives.
Subba Reddy welcomed the government’s move to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty and halt water flow from vital hydropower initiatives but requested clarification on pending projects such as Sawalkot and Pakaldul. He urged the government to accelerate all relief measures and instruct banks and insurance firms to process claims for affected families without delay.
He also endorsed the government’s diplomatic outreach through all-party delegations visiting crucial global capitals; however, he expressed disappointment over YSRCP’s exclusion from the discussions, despite being the seventh largest party in the Rajya Sabha. Nevertheless, he reaffirmed the party's full support for international initiatives aimed at highlighting India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.
Subba Reddy asserted that terrorism must be eradicated at its ideological roots and welcomed Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s declaration of 2025 as the ‘Year of Reforms’ to modernize India’s armed forces and fortify national security.
