New Delhi, Sep 30 (NationPress) Union Minister and NDA ally Chirag Paswan delivered a pointed response to the opposition in Bihar on Tuesday, emphasizing their evident anxiety as the BJP-led Central government and the Nitish Kumar-led state administration have successfully fulfilled commitments that the opposition failed to deliver.
Paswan stated, 'The opposition is clearly in a state of panic, which is understandable. The manner in which the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have not only announced schemes but have also seen them come to fruition has unsettled the opposition.'
'I am pleased that the Prime Minister has not only laid the groundwork for new initiatives but has also inaugurated projects. These welfare schemes represent the very aspirations that the opposition promised the people of Bihar. Our government, however, has gone beyond simply announcing them—we have delivered on our promises,' he continued.
During his address to the media, Paswan also addressed the recent wave of corruption allegations directed at top NDA leaders in the state, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Health Minister Mangal Pandey, Rural Work Minister Ashok Choudhary, and BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal, by Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor.
In response to Kishor's specific corruption claims, Paswan remained composed yet assertive: 'Prashant Kishor continues to level allegations. The real question is whether he supports his claims with evidence or is merely making accusations. These are issues that warrant investigation. We’ve witnessed similar political strategies in Delhi as well.'
Earlier, Prashant Kishor conducted a press conference at the Jan Suraaj camp office in Patna, accusing key NDA leaders of financial improprieties and presenting what he asserted were new pieces of evidence, including bank statements and documents.
Kishor alleged that from 2019 to 2020, Rs 2.12 crore was deposited into the Punjab National Bank account number 1499000141819, which he claimed belonged to Urmila Pandey, the wife of Minister Mangal Pandey. He further accused the minister of not disclosing the source of these funds.
