New Delhi, March 27 (NationPress) On Thursday, the Parliament is set to present several significant bills for consideration and approval. In the Lok Sabha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will propose that the amendments made by the Rajya Sabha to the Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, 2024, be reviewed and agreed upon. This Bill was initially passed by the Lok Sabha on December 12, 2024, and subsequently sent to the Rajya Sabha for its approval. The Rajya Sabha approved the Bill with amendments during its meeting on Wednesday and returned it to the Lok Sabha that same day.
Additionally, the Home Minister will introduce the Immigration and Foreigners Bill, 2025. According to the Business List from the Lower House, this Bill is aimed at granting the Central Government specific powers to enforce the necessity of passports or other travel documents for individuals entering and exiting India, as well as regulating matters related to foreigners, including visa requirements and registration, alongside associated matters.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will also propose that the amendments made by the Rajya Sabha to the Railways (Amendment) Bill, 2024, which seeks to amend the Railways Act of 1989, be taken into consideration.
Furthermore, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal will bring forward the Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill, 2024, for approval. This Bill was tabled on December 17, 2024, and aims to enable the reservation of seats in accordance with Article 332 of the Constitution to ensure effective democratic participation of Scheduled Tribes members, as well as to provide for the readjustment of seats in the Goa Legislative Assembly in light of the inclusion of certain communities in the Scheduled Tribes list.
In the Rajya Sabha, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will seek consideration and return of the Appropriation (No. 3) Bill, 2025, which authorizes the payment and appropriation of specific sums from the Consolidated Fund of India for the financial year 2025-26, as passed by the Lok Sabha.
Moreover, she will also introduce the Finance Bill, 2025, aimed at implementing the Central Government's financial proposals for the financial year 2025-26, as passed by the Lok Sabha, for consideration and return.
