Parliament Today: Reports to be Presented by the Committee on SCs and STs

New Delhi, Dec 6 (NationPress) In both Houses of Parliament on Friday, the Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will present reports concerning the implementation of reservation policy in the Ministries/Departments, specifically related to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
According to the Business List of the Lok Sabha, members Faggan Singh Kulaste and Anil Firojiya will present the reports from the Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes for the fiscal year 2024-25.
The list details, "First Report on Action taken by the Government on recommendations from the Thirty-first Report (17th Lok Sabha) of the Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, addressing the implementation of reservation policy in the Ministries/Departments of the Government of India, with particular reference to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). The second report covers government actions on recommendations from the Twenty-fifth Report (17th Lok Sabha) regarding the role of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of Personnel and Training) in formulating, executing, and monitoring the reservation policy.
The Standing Committee on Finance will also present various reports. Members Bhartruhari Mahtab and Arun Nehru will discuss 'Demands for Grants (2024-25)' for multiple ministries, including the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Corporate Affairs, as well as actions taken on the 59th Report related to 'Cyber Security and Rising Incidence of Cyber/White Collar Crimes' and the 66th Report on the 'Performance Review and Regulation of the Insurance Sector.'
Furthermore, the Union Home Minister will introduce a Bill aimed at amending the Disaster Management Act, 2005 in the Lok Sabha. This Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill intends to clarify roles and empower authorities at both national and state levels. Initially introduced on August 1, the Bill aims to enhance the existing framework established for effective disaster management in India.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has also sought consideration and passage for the Railways (Amendment) Bill, 2024, which aims to revise the Railways Act of 1989 to bolster the powers of the Railways Board and enhance operational efficiency.
Union Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh is set to deliver statements regarding the progress of implementing recommendations from the 15th Report on 'Welfare of Indian Diaspora; Policies/Schemes', the 20th Report on 'Demands for Grants for the year 2023-24', and the 22nd Report concerning India’s Neighbourhood First Policy.
In the Rajya Sabha, reports from the Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will be tabled.
Members Sumitra Balmik and Mithlesh Kumar will present copies of the reports: "The first report on Action taken by the government on the recommendations from the Thirty-first Report (17th Lok Sabha) regarding the implementation of reservation policy in the Ministries/Departments of the Government of India, specifically concerning the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD)'; and the Second Report on Action taken by the government on the recommendations from the Twenty-fifth Report (17th Lok Sabha) regarding the role of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in formulating, implementing, and monitoring the reservation policy.
Friday serves as the day for Private Members Business, with several bills expected to be tabled by members in both Houses.
