New Delhi, Dec 16 (NationPress) The count of Vande Bharat services linking key cities throughout India has risen to 164. Since their debut in 2019, these state-of-the-art trains have transported over 7.5 crore passengers, as announced by the Ministry of Railways on Tuesday.

Manufactured under the Make in India initiative, these trains provide quicker, safer, and more comfortable travel experiences. Equipped with features like automatic plug doors, rotating seats, and bio-vacuum toilets, they also boast GPS-based passenger information systems and comprehensive CCTV surveillance.

Vande Bharat Express services operate in 274 districts nationwide, linking India’s cultural, spiritual, and economic centers while enhancing travel, tourism, and regional connectivity.

The Delhi-Varanasi route connects the national capital to the spiritual heart of India, offering a reliable travel option for pilgrims and tourists alike. Similarly, the Srinagar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra route, inaugurated on June 6, 2025, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, enhances access to one of the country's most sacred pilgrimage sites, bolstering religious tourism and regional connectivity.

Meanwhile, the Bengaluru-Hyderabad train service has become a top choice for many, particularly IT professionals and business travelers, as it connects two major tech hubs in India.

Starting in 2019 with a single train, the Vande Bharat network now includes 164 trains that transport hundreds of thousands of passengers monthly. These services enhance productivity for business travelers, provide comfortable journeys for families, ensure dignified travel for pilgrims, and reduce carbon emissions compared to road and air travel.

The overwhelming response to these trains indicates a rising demand for world-class rail infrastructure across India.
