Amaravati, May 19 (NationPress) Andhra Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan urged law enforcement to maintain a stringent watch on potential terrorist activities following Operation Sindoor.
In correspondence to the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police, he advocated for heightened surveillance in the coastal regions.
The Jana Sena Party leader highlighted the importance of monitoring the presence of Rohingyas, individuals sympathetic to terrorism, and sleeper cells.
He stressed that national security and public safety should be prioritized. In his letters to the Chief Secretary and DGP, he offered recommendations for enhancing internal security within the state.
This correspondence followed reports from police in the Telugu states regarding the disruption of a terror plot, resulting in the arrest of two suspects, one of whom was a youth from Vizianagaram district.
The Deputy Chief Minister urged police and administrative officials to stay alert for any movement of suspected terrorists and their supporters across all districts.
Pawan Kalyan remarked that in light of Operation Sindoor, there is an urgent need for continuous vigilance and improved coordination among relevant departments. “After the arrest of a young man in Vizianagaram connected to IS and planning blasts, our state police must take decisive action,” he asserted.
He instructed district officials to be on high alert for the presence and activities of terrorist sympathizers, sleeper cells, illegal immigrants, and Rohingyas, urging them to report any suspicious findings to higher authorities.
The Deputy CM called for enhanced monitoring of such activities, especially in coastal districts, given the state’s extensive coastline. As a result, meticulous attention is necessary for coastal surveillance and security.
He pointed out that following the Pahalgam terror attack and its repercussions, an in-depth investigation is warranted to examine the government’s information regarding illegal immigrants and terrorist sympathizers in the state.
The Jana Sena Party leader urged attentiveness towards individuals involved in any past terrorist activities within the state. He recommended focusing on coastal Andhra, Godavari, and Manyam districts. Stringent measures should be initiated to identify the existence of sleeper cells and terrorist sympathizers. A periodic report should be submitted to the government regarding immediate actions taken to monitor suspicious activities.
The Deputy CM specifically mentioned Rohingyas, advocating for a thorough inquiry into their presence in Guntur and surrounding districts. He expressed concern that some have obtained ration cards, Aadhaar, and voter IDs, labeling this a disturbing trend.
He demanded that officials investigate how these suspects acquired their identification cards, who assisted them in this process, and the individuals or organizations providing them shelter.
