Amaravati, April 24 (NationPress) Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Thursday paid tribute to Somishetty Madhusudhan Rao, one of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.

Pawan Kalyan arrived in Kavali town, located in Nellore district, and laid a wreath on the remains of the software engineer.

The Jana Sena leader honored the terror victim and provided comfort to his grieving family.

The actor-politician was joined by ministers Nadendla Manohar, Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, and Sathya Kumar.

Speaking to the media, Pawan Kalyan vehemently condemned the attack, noting that Madhusudhan was killed in a horrific manner in front of his wife and young children.

The Deputy Chief Minister called for the eradication of terrorism, stating that the brutal Pahalgam attack has profoundly impacted us.

"My heart goes out to the bereaved families. As a sign of respect and solidarity, Jana Sena will observe three days of mourning across the Telugu States. Our party flag will be flown at half-mast. In this dark time, we stand united. The unity of our Bharat cannot be shattered by terror. I have complete faith that our leadership will respond resolutely to ensure justice prevails and that such atrocities are never repeated. Together, we will heal and overcome," he expressed.

Previously, Madhusudhan's remains were brought back to his hometown, Kavali. The 42-year-old software engineer, who was residing in Bengaluru, was among the 26 tourists who lost their lives in the terror attack that occurred in Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Tuesday.

Madhusudhan’s body arrived at Chennai Airport on Wednesday night and was transported to Kavali by road.

Tirupal and Padmvathi were devastated to see their son's body.

They had not been informed about his death and were initially told he had been injured in the attack. Madhusudhan Rao was the only son of Tirupal and Padmavathi, who run a banana business in the town.

For the past 12 years, he had been living in Bengaluru. The techie was on a vacation to Kashmir with his wife Kamakshi, daughter, and son.

Madhusudhan was one of two individuals from Andhra Pradesh who died in the terror attack. J.S. Chandramouli, a retired bank employee from Visakhapatnam, was also a victim.

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu received Chandramouli's remains at Visakhapatnam Airport on Wednesday night.

The Chief Minister offered floral tributes and comforted the grieving family. Reinforcing the state's dedication to national security, Naidu announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh each for the families of the two martyrs from Andhra Pradesh - Chandramouli and IT professional Madhusudan from Kavali.
