New Delhi, April 23 (NationPress) The President of the All-India Football Federation (AIFF), Kalyan Chaubey, has expressed his profound condolences to the victims of the appalling terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam that took place on Tuesday. This tragedy unfolded in the tranquil Baisaran Valley, a picturesque meadow located about six kilometers from the well-known tourist destination of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists and locals, leading to 26 deaths and numerous injuries.
“On behalf of the whole Indian football community, we extend our heartfelt condolences regarding the tragic loss of lives in the appalling terrorist attack in Pahalgam,” stated the AIFF President.
A moment of silence was observed prior to the Kalinga Super Cup 2025 Round of 16 match between Bengaluru FC and Inter Kashi, which the latter won through penalties, at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, to honor the victims. Both teams donned black armbands to signify mourning.
The governing body of Indian football also conveyed its sentiments regarding the attack, expressing hope that the spirit of unity would triumph over violence.

Words are insufficient. My thoughts are with the families of all those impacted by this cowardly act of terror,” Chhetri stated in his post.
