Mumbai, April 22 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis vehemently denounced the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

He stated that his administration is coordinating with the Jammu and Kashmir officials to obtain updates regarding tourists from the state who were harmed in the assault.

Tragically, two tourists hailing from Maharashtra have lost their lives in this incident.

In a post on X, he expressed: “My heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their lives in this tragedy. We share in the sorrow of their families and loved ones. I pray for the swift recovery of those injured. We are in communication with senior officials from the Jammu and Kashmir administration. We also reached out to Vijay Kumar Bidri, the divisional commissioner of Kashmir, under whose jurisdiction Pahalgam lies, to inquire further. From the current information, two tourists from Maharashtra have perished, including Dilip Disle and Atul Mone. Additionally, reports from the local administration indicate that two individuals from Maharashtra were injured in this terrorist act, namely Manik Patel from Panvel and S. Bhalchandra Rao. Thankfully, both are in stable condition.”

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also condemned the act. In his post on X, he stated: “May God grant peace to the souls of the civilians who lost their lives in this cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. All injured citizens are receiving appropriate medical care. We will ensure that strict measures are taken against the terrorists responsible for this heinous act. Public condemnation of this cowardly attack!”

Shiv Sena UBT leader and the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the state council Ambadas Danve remarked that the assault on tourists is appalling.

“These terrorists took lives in the name of religion. They must be eradicated. Furthermore, those aiding them should also be apprehended and prosecuted. While tourism in Kashmir may have increased following the abrogation of Article 370, if tourists are not provided security, all these efforts are futile,” he stated.

NCP SP working president and MP Supriya Sule expressed: “I strongly condemn the tragic terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. My deepest sympathies go out to the families of those who lost their loved ones. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured.”

She continued, “I urge Omar Abdullah to provide immediate medical assistance and support to the following individuals from Pune who have sustained injuries in the Pahalgam shooting incident today: Asawari Jagdale, Pragati Jagdale, Santosh Jagdale (gunshot wound), Kaustubh Ganbote (gunshot wound), and Sangeeta Gabote from Pune. The family has requested an update on their condition. Thank you for your prompt and effective administration!”
