Mumbai, April 23 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis declared a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the families of the tourists who tragically lost their lives in the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

"We are actively coordinating with the tourists affected. Arrangements have been made for those who have reached out to us. We are facilitating their return through IndiGo. Following a review of the arrangements, Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol will ask IndiGo for an additional flight. The minister is overseeing the procurement of necessary tickets. They will be returned to Maharashtra as soon as possible, given their understandable fears after this incident," stated CM Fadnavis.

He further mentioned that state ministers Ashish Shelar and Mangal Prabhat Lodha are monitoring the arrangements at Mumbai Airport. In Pune, Union Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol and Minister of State Madhuri Misal are involved in coordinating efforts.

"We have also set up a system at the state Disaster Management Centre to keep track of updates. The injured individuals are being treated there, and we will facilitate their return once doctors give the go-ahead," he added.

Additionally, the state government has urged tourists stranded in Kashmir to reach out to the State Disaster Management helpline at 022-22027990.

The official statement indicated, "In light of this tragedy, the Disaster Management Cell is functioning round the clock. The deceased tourists' bodies will be repatriated to Mumbai from Srinagar today. This afternoon, the remains of both Maharashtra and Gujarat victims will arrive at Mumbai airport by air from Srinagar, and from there, they will be transported to their respective villages by ambulance."
