Mumbai, April 23 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is currently managing the logistics for transporting the remains of the victims from the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, J&K, as well as supporting stranded tourists. He confirmed that six individuals from Maharashtra tragically lost their lives in this heinous act.

In a message posted on X, he shared, "The bodies of Sanjay Lele and Dilip Disle will be transported via an Air India flight from Srinagar to Mumbai, departing at 12:15 PM."

"The flight carrying the remains of Kaustubh Ganavate and Santosh Jagdale from Pune is scheduled to leave at 6 PM, heading to Pune.

"Additionally, the remains of Hemant Joshi and Atul Mone will be on a flight departing from Srinagar at 1:15 PM, arriving in Mumbai.

"At Mumbai Airport, Minister Ashish Shelar and Minister M Lodha will oversee coordination efforts, while Minister Madhuritai Misal will handle arrangements at Pune Airport.

"Minister Girish Mahajan is en route to Srinagar to facilitate the return of other tourists as well," he added.

Fadnavis also noted that Santosh Jagdale from Pune was injured during the attack and is currently receiving medical attention, with his wife reportedly hurt as well. He assured the family of all possible support from the state government.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that the government has initiated the process to facilitate the return of the bodies and the victims' families.

Shinde mentioned on X, "I am closely monitoring this situation and coordinating efforts. MP Dr Shrikant Shinde's personal assistant Abhijit Darekar and his team arrived in Srinagar last night to assist with the repatriation of the victims' bodies and their relatives.

"Meanwhile, Water Supply Minister Gulabrao Patil and Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam will be present in Mumbai for coordination. Additionally, measures are being taken to ensure the safe return of other stranded tourists in Srinagar.

"A Shiv Sena team remains in Srinagar to support stranded tourists from Maharashtra."

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar emphasized the priority of safely bringing every citizen back home, mentioning that extra flights are being arranged.

According to a statement from Ajit Pawar's office, he has contacted the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, requesting immediate assistance for tourists from Maharashtra.

He stressed that ensuring the safe return of all tourists and providing relief to their families is paramount, with special officers being appointed in the State Disaster Management Cell to coordinate with stranded tourists and provide necessary aid.

Ajit Pawar has also reached out to Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol to organize special flight services.

"We are making arrangements for the rapid and secure repatriation of tourists by scheduling as many flights as needed," the release stated.

Furthermore, Ajit Pawar has contacted stranded tourists in Kashmir to offer assistance and support.

"The state government urges citizens to stay calm and avoid panic. They are receiving timely and accurate information through regular updates to the families of the tourists. A comprehensive list of tourists, their residences, and potential return schedules is being compiled, with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar directing that the entire process be executed efficiently and swiftly," concluded the DCM's office.
