Mumbai, April 22 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed strong condemnation regarding the despicable terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

He stated that his administration is in communication with the Jammu and Kashmir authorities to receive updates concerning tourists from Maharashtra who were harmed in the incident.

Tragically, two tourists from Maharashtra lost their lives during this attack.

In a post on X, he conveyed: “My heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of those who perished in this tragedy. We are deeply saddened by their loss and stand in solidarity with the grieving families. I pray for the swift recovery of those injured. We are coordinating with senior officials from the Jammu and Kashmir administration. We have also contacted Vijay Kumar Bidri, the divisional commissioner of Kashmir, to gather more details. Reports indicate that two tourists from Maharashtra, Dilip Disle and Atul Mone, have tragically lost their lives. Additionally, two individuals from Maharashtra sustained injuries in this incident. One of them is Manik Patel from Panvel, and the other is S. Bhalchandra Rao. Thankfully, both are currently in stable condition.”

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also denounced the attack. In a post on X, he remarked: “May God bring peace to the souls of the civilians who lost their lives in this despicable terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. All injured individuals are receiving appropriate medical attention. We will ensure strict measures are taken against the terrorists responsible for this heinous act. Public condemnation of this cowardly act is vital!”

Shiv Sena UBT leader and the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the state council, Ambadas Danve, remarked that the attack on tourists is appalling.

“The terrorists took innocent lives, citing religion as their motive. These terrorists must be eliminated. Moreover, those who assist them should also be apprehended and prosecuted. While tourism in Kashmir has increased following the abrogation of Article 370, inadequate security measures render these advancements ineffective,” he stated.

NCP SP working president and MP Supriya Sule expressed, “I strongly condemn the tragic terrorist attack on tourists in #Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families mourning their loved ones. I wish a swift recovery for the injured.”

She further added, “I urge @OmarAbdullah to provide immediate medical assistance and support to the following individuals from Pune who were injured in the Pahalgam shooting today: Asawari Jagdale, Pragati Jagdale, Santosh Jagdale (gunshot wound), Kaustubh Ganbote (gunshot wound), & Sangeeta Gabote. Their family seeks clarity regarding their condition. Thank you for your prompt and efficient administration!”
