Dombivli, April 23 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis arrived in Dombivli on Wednesday night to pay his respects with floral tributes to Late Atul Mone, Late Sanjay Lele, and Late Hemant Joshi, who tragically lost their lives in the brutal terrorist attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam.

He met the grieving families to offer his condolences.

The bodies of the three victims were brought back in the evening and taken to Dombivli, where numerous citizens and relatives gathered to pay their respects.

“A crowd of thousands gathered at Bhagshala Maidan in Dombivli to say a tearful goodbye to the three individuals who fell victim to the terrorist assault in Pahalgam.

“The calculated and despicable act carried out by terrorists was condemned by the citizens of Dombivli, as they mourned the loss of three community members. The widespread discontent towards terrorism was evident among the large turnout,” expressed family members.

Prominent figures present included Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, former MP Jagannath Patil, MLA Sulabha Gaikwad, former minister Ravindra Chavan, District Collector Ashok Shingare, Joint Commissioner of Police Dnyaneshwar Chavan, and Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Rohan Ghuge, among many concerned citizens.

In a somber atmosphere, citizens expressed their grief. During the Chief Minister’s visit, agitated citizens shouted slogans against Pakistan and called for a total ban on all products from the country.

Many emotionally approached Fadnavis, stating, “Only you can provide us with justice.”

The bodies were transported for cremation in flower-adorned vehicles around 9:00 PM. A grand funeral procession was held, attended by thousands of mourners. An emotional tribute banner featuring the names and photographs of the deceased was displayed on the vehicle.

The procession traversed significant routes in Dombivli, including Domino’s Pizza, MG Road, Dombivli Station (West), Kopar Road, Kopar Bridge, Tandon Road, and RP Road, culminating in a sorrowful cremation at the crematorium on Shiv Mandir Road.

Many citizens displayed their emotions during this time.

A profound silence enveloped Bhagsala Maidan as mourners solemnly passed by the coffins. Some stood in shock while others were visibly moved to tears. The community's psychological trauma from the incident was palpable.

Earlier, upon the body’s arrival at the airport, several senior leaders and ministers paid their respects by laying wreaths on behalf of the state.

Additionally, the Thane district administration revealed late at night that 156 tourists from the district remain stranded in Jammu and Kashmir. Arrangements for their return home via special flights and trains are underway and expected to commence from tomorrow. Following this terrorist incident, the people of Dombivli are calling for justice for all citizens and stringent actions against terrorists.
