Petitioner in MUDA Case Claims Offers of Crores to Withdraw CBI Investigation Request

Bengaluru, Dec 18 (NationPress) The petitioner in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case linked to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Snehamayi Krishna, alleged on Wednesday that he has been offered large sums of money to retract his petition demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the matter.
This revelation has gained significance as the Karnataka High Court is set to hear the petition requesting a CBI investigation into the MUDA case on December 19.
On the same day, Krishna filed a complaint with the Karnataka Lokayukta and urged the Investigating Officer to investigate the allegations.
He also shared a copy of what he claims is CCTV footage showing one Harsha, who claims to be the personal assistant of CM Siddaramaiah’s wife, approaching his family.
“Harsha, who presents himself as the personal assistant to CM Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi, contacted me through a mutual acquaintance, Srinidhi, and requested my cooperation regarding the MUDA case. When I declined, Harsha came to my home, spoke to my son, and attempted to entice him with offers of substantial money,” Krishna stated in his complaint.
“On December 13 at noon, while I was at the MUDA office, Srinidhi brought Harsha along and introduced him as the personal assistant of Parvathi. Srinidhi mentioned that Harsha wanted to have a private discussion with me,” Krishna recounted.
“Harsha immediately prostrated before me, claiming that Parvathi is suffering from mental distress and is unable to eat or sleep due to the MUDA case. He implored me not to allow the case to be handed over to the CBI, proposing instead that the Lokayukta conduct the inquiry. He folded his hands and requested my assistance,” Krishna alleged.
“I informed him that there was no chance of me retracting my stance. I have embarked on this legal fight, and if she has any concerns, she should pursue them through the legal system,” he added.
Krishna stated that Harsha claimed Parvathi had no involvement in the matter and explained that the issue arose from misplaced trust in Devaraju (the landowner and fourth accused) and Mallikarjuna Swamy (the third accused and CM’s brother-in-law).
According to him, Harsha mentioned during their meeting that a certain C.T. Kumara had recommended writing letters and, in some cases, signing letters on behalf of 'amma' and requested assistance.
“I advised Harsha to file a police report about this. Despite the pressure, I did not relent and left,” he asserted.
“The following day, on December 14, the Chamundeshwari Temple Authority Secretary M.J. Roopa lodged a false case against me at the K.R. Police Station in Mysuru. Upon learning that the police intended to arrest me, I turned off my mobile phone and traveled to Bengaluru to meet my lawyers,” he noted.
“Later, my son informed me that Harsha and Srinidhi had visited our home and urged him to persuade me to withdraw the petition requesting a CBI probe. They claimed they would prostrate before both me and my wife on behalf of Parvathi. Harsha also promised he could offer any amount of money I requested,” Krishna alleged.
“When my son declined, they took him away in a car, stating that the condition of the CM’s wife had worsened. They claimed they had already negotiated with activist Gangaraju and convinced him with a payment of Rs 3 crore. They also asserted that Rs 1.5 crore had been previously paid and showed a video of a bag full of money on Harsha’s phone. Harsha requested my son to arrange a meeting with my wife so they could directly plead with her,” Krishna claimed.
“They assured my son that I would not be arrested and that a B-report would be filed regarding the FIR against me. They took my son’s mobile number and left. Subsequently, Srinidhi and Harsha called my son multiple times,” he alleged.
“This is a serious matter. Harsha’s mobile devices should be confiscated, and CM Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi should be interrogated. They should be instructed not to contact my family in any manner in the future,” he demanded in his complaint.
“The accused are apprehensive of being apprehended if the case is transferred to the CBI,” Snehamayi Krishna stated.
The MUDA case involves alleged improper allocation of 14 sites to Siddaramaiah's family by the MUDA. Following these allegations, Siddaramaiah's family returned the sites.
Currently, both the Karnataka Lokayukta and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are investigating the matter.
